YMCA Youth Engagement programs are designed to help you explore and tap into your potential — one step at a time. Along the way, you’ll learn skills, share ideas, gain mentors, discover opportunities, and have plenty of fun.


Youth Action

Youth Action is is a drop-in program for youth ages 10 to 14 years old. The program provides youth with the opportunity to develop assets that will help them become healthy adults, and give them the foundation to make positive life choices.

Beyond The Bell™

YMCA Beyond the Bell™ is a registered program that combines recreation, academic assistance and physical activity. It is offered at two schools in St. Catharines for youth in grades 2 to 4. The program is open to students attending the school.

Newcomer Youth Employment

At the YMCA Community Hub, Newcomer Youth Employment Services, is designed to support young newcomers in their journey towards securing meaningful employment opportunities in their new communities.

Youth Empowerment Program

The YMCA Youth Empowerment Program at the YMCA Community Hub aims to equip youth encountering significant adversity in their growth and development with the tools and resources necessary to overcome these challenges. The program is designed to enhance their academic performance, social relationships, emotional well-being, and overall life outcomes.

Youth Gambling Awareness Program

The YMCA Youth Gambling Awareness Program (YGAP) is a free service funded by the Government of Ontario offering educational prevention programs to youth and adults involved in young people’s lives on gambling awareness including potential risks, making informed decisions and healthy and active living.

The YMCA Youth Leaders Program is a place where youth can realize their potential today and help them become leaders of tomorrow. It gives youth aged 13 to 15 years old a safe space to explore and develop leadership skills that will help them prepare for the new challenges that lie ahead.
