Outdoor EarlyON Programs

There’s lots to discover beyond the walls of our EarlyON Centres! Outdoor programs give children and caregivers opportunities to play, move, explore, and connect together in the fresh air.

Programs and activities change throughout the year and may take families into gardens, parks, playgrounds, neighbourhoods, and other community spaces. From nature-based play and creative activities to walks, special outings, and seasonal adventures, each experience offers a new way to explore together.

Outdoor EarlyON programs are free for families with children from birth to six years old. Most are drop-in, unless registration is noted.

Early Forest Explorers

Every season brings something new to discover outdoors.

Early Forest Explorers invites children and caregivers to connect with nature through outdoor adventures in local green spaces. Families can explore at their own pace through hands-on nature play, with opportunities for activities like scavenger hunts, bird watching, storytelling, sensory experiences, nature searches, and seasonal discoveries.

Together, children can get curious, build confidence, be active, and experience how the natural world changes throughout the year.

There’s no bad weather when you’re dressed for the adventure!

Join us at Malcomson Eco Park on Thursdays from 9:30am – 12:30pm

Weather & program updates
Early Forest Explorers is designed for year-round outdoor play and will continue in rain and cold weather. Programs may be cancelled during weather warnings or when temperatures fall below -20°C with the wind chill. Any same-day changes will be shared on our social media channels.
