Jump in and discover why everyone from infants to seniors can benefit from being active in the water! We offer a variety of aquatics programming including, swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, and more.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced swimmer, you can gain the skills and confidence you need to stay safe and enjoy the pool. The YMCA has been offering aquatics programming & swimming lessons to Canadians since the 1900s. Thousands of Canadians have learned to swim at the Y.
Come and enjoy the water. Our pools are available for open swims and lane swims throughout the day, seven days a week.
Knowing how to swim can save your life — or even someone else’s. Taught by certified YMCA instructors, our swimming lessons develop lifelong skills that help your child to be safe in and around the water.
Want to add a little variety to your group fitness classes? Just add water and there’s a whole new dynamic to a workout. The resistance of the water strengthens your muscles as you push and pull your body through the water. Your body weight is supported by the buoyancy of the water, so you reduce the impact on your joints as you improve your cardiovascular fitness. Led by trained YMCA Instructors, these classes offer benefits for all fitness levels, and you’ll appreciate the ability to control the intensity by modifying surface area, speed, and force of movements.
From water sports to swim clubs, YMCA Aquatic Specialty programs bring swimmers together for organized activities in the water. Whether you’re new to the pool or looking for some friendly competition, our programs will keep you moving and having fun.
Open the door to employment and volunteer possibilities through our YMCA Aquatic Certifications programs. Certification as a lifeguard or swimming instructor can lead to employment opportunities at the YMCA and elsewhere. You’ll also develop leadership skills that can have a great impact on your future.
Making Waves Swimming and Leadership Bursaries provide Child memberships to kids and access to YMCA swim lessons and aquatic leadership programs. Youth are then able to apply for a bursary covering 90% of the cost to take the qualification courses to become a lifeguard.
