The Y is a gateway to many resources that will help you settle in to your new community.

All YMCA Employment & Immigrant Services locations in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Thorold are closed at this time to walk-in traffic. We have moved to a modified service model and continue to work with clients and the broader community virtually by e-mail, phone or text during this difficult time.

Our hours of operation remain unchanged: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

YMCA Immigrant Services can help you connect with the wide range of services you and your family need as newcomers to Canada — including health care, education, and language help. YMCA staff speak a variety of languages. Contact us to find answers to your questions, discover programs for immigrant youth, and learn how to navigate unfamiliar processes.

The YMCA Newcomer Information Centre (NIC) is a first stop for all newcomers to Canada.

Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) are here to help facilitate your integration into the local education system and community.

If you’re interested in learning or improving upon your understanding of the English language, you’ll need to undergo a language assessment.  We can help through our Coordinated Language Assessment & Referral System (CLARS).
