The Provincial Government recently announced that schools across the province will not resume “in-class learning” until Monday, January 25, 2021. The YMCA of Niagara continues to align our programs with the School Boards which means YMCA of Niagara Before and After School Age programs will also not reopen until Monday, January 25, 2021.

School Age Child Care:

We continue to follow the direction from the Ministry of Education and our School Age Programs will commence on the return to school date. As per our policy, parents will not be charged during the closure period when we do not provide child care services.

Preschool Child Care:

Unless we are specifically advised otherwise by the Ministry of Education, YMCA infant, toddler and preschool care will continue to operate as usual. Should there be any change to this plan, we will share this information through our centres, Weemarkable, and our YMCA website.

The safety of our children, families and staff is our first priority. This is a rapidly evolving situation and is subject to change. Please pay attention to the media and monitor the YMCA of Niagara website for further updates.

A strong foundation for learning in a safe environment

YMCA Child Care supports the healthy growth and development of children and promotes a lifelong appreciation for learning.  Our YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum prepares our youngest children for academic success in the area of language and literacy, math, science and technology and the arts.  Our before and after school programs provide school-age children with a safe, supervised and active experience that fosters social skills and develops a sense of community. All YMCA Child Care programs are licensed under the Child Care and Early Years Act and inspected by the Ministry of Education. Regular internal evaluations ensure quality in child care practices, and a safe, nurturing environment for your child.
