The Settlement Worker in Schools Programs (SWIS Program) is funded through Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada and is delivered in partnership with the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board.

The SWIS program provide service for your children through local schools in the Niagara Region.  The main objective of the program is to assist your child to integrate into their school and community.

The SWIS worker will:

  • Help students and their families adjust in new school system and community
  • Organize group information sessions and workshops
  • Help in translation during Parent-Teacher Interviews
  • Run Newcomer Orientation Week for newcomer high school students

You as parent(s) of elementary or high school students, your children in high schools or the school staff are welcome to contact a SWIS worker for our services.
