YMCA Kid Fit Summer Programs 

The YMCA Kid Fit Summer Programs are designed for children and youth (ages 3 to 12 years). They provide opportunities for fun, social engagement, and include activities that develop physical literacy.

As the pandemic continues, we are delighted to share that we are continuing our popular YMCA Kid Fit programs and offering YMCA Kid Fit Yoga and (new!) YMCA Kid Fit Train sessions while adhering to provincial COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Please note

  • A-la-carte programming; if a class is unable to run due to weather an online option will be provided
  • Participant registers online for one class per week for four weeks 
  • Ages are listed in the table above, maximum 10 participants 

Program Information

This circuit-based program focuses on cardiovascular endurance and strength. Obstacle courses allow children to engage in activities that help improve their hearts and lungs. These fun circuits enhance fundamental movement skills and improve stamina.

In a setting where play is encouraged, YMCA Kidfit Cardio sets the tone for an active, healthy lifestyle.

Please note: Due to Provincial COVID-19 Guidelines we are unable to offer this course at this time.

With a focus on strength, endurance and flexibility, this program enhances physical literacy; increasing body awareness, balance, coordination, and concentration. Incorporating music and stories sparks imagination.

YMCA Kidfit Yoga helps increase self-awareness, body control, and boost self-esteem.

YMCA Kidfit GameOn focuses on coordination, movement skills, and object control. These age-appropriate games with aims, teach children and youth how to handle balls, pucks, sticks, and racquets while staying active with fun individual and team-based activities.

With a focus on strength, endurance and flexibility, this program will enhance physical literacy.

Kid Fit Train will be focusing on specific sport skills appropriate for 10 to 15 years. This 45-minute program will lead participants through cardio activities, strength training and stretching in an interactive setting. It will also provide athletic training to improve sport performance.

Starting July 4, all classes will take place outdoors at the Walker Family YMCA; weather permitting.
