YMCA Summer Day Camp Information
Safety is #1
We have reimagined YMCA Day Camps following Ministry of Health and Niagara Region Public Health guidance. Our top priority is providing a safe environment for our campers and staff.
Safety protocols and frequent disinfecting will be in place. This includes having campers and staff wear a mask, physical distancing, frequent hand washing, health screening, individual equipment, and activities that encourage appropriate space between campers.
Campers will be outside as much as possible and should dress appropriately for outdoor activities.
Hours of Operation
In-person YMCA Day Camp operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For your convenience, drop off at each camp site begins at 8:00 a.m. and pick up ends at 5:00 p.m.
Days of Operation
We plan to operate Summer Day Camp from July 5 to September 3, 2021.
All camps run Monday to Friday, except for week 5; camps do not operate on August 2.
- Extended Care and Busing are not available for the summer of 2021
- Virtual Camps and Outdoor Family Camp activities are available during specific time frames; please refer to camp descriptions for more information
- One and two-week Day Camps are available; please refer to camp descriptions for more information
Group sizes are aligned with the Ministry of Health Day Camp Guidance and Niagara Region Public Health recommendations. Campers will remain with the same group for the duration of the camp.
Within their group, we will encourage children to maintain physical distancing whenever possible. Masks are mandatory unless they are eating or drinking.
Helping Hands is available for children who would benefit from a small ratio and additional support in Camp. For more information, please click here.
All in-person camp programs will promote physical distancing between campers. The sharing of equipment is discouraged. Frequent cleaning and sanitization of high-touch surfaces and equipment will occur.

Please note swimming and camp songs are not part of the planned program for summer 2021.
Children must be the correct age for the camp by the first day of the camp.
YMCA Day Camp follows the same health practices as Schools and Licensed Child Care Centres.
Parents/caregivers must complete the Ontario health screening each day for children attending, and provide confirmation of a pass at drop-off.
Please keep your child(ren) home if they are feeling unwell. Access to YMCA Day Camp will not be permitted if the individual does not pass the screening that day.
If a child begins to develop any symptoms during the program, the parent/caregiver will be notified and will be required to pick that child up immediately. For the safety of everyone involved, the child(ren) will be removed from the group while waiting to be picked up.
Drop-off and Pick-up
Please line up for drop-off and pick-up so that we can effectively screen and sign out all campers. Children and individuals dropping off must maintain a minimum of 6 feet between other individuals. Only one adult per family should approach the sign-in table for drop-off or pick-up.
Only individuals 16+ listed as authorized pick-up during the registration process will be permitted to sign participants out. Authorized pick-ups, including parents/caregivers, must show valid, government issued photo identification daily.
Entering Camp Area
For the safety of everyone involved, parents/caregivers and authorized individuals must remain at the sign-in and out area. They will not be permitted inside the program.
To make arrangements for late drop off or early pick up, please speak to the YMCA staff at sign-in or out. You may also contact the Day Camp office at (905) 934-9755 ext 280.
Failure to follow the YMCA safety practices may result in removal or dismissal from the Day Camp program at the discretion of the YMCA.
