From the Little Medical School Team:
Little Medical School (LMS) of Niagara works with educators, healthcare leaders, and community organizations to INSPIRE healthy lifestyles in children as they learn about medical careers. Our LMS Trained Instructors are also community members – these individuals range from aspiring world changers, practicing medical providers, and accomplished educators. All programs are written by a board-certified educator and reviewed by board-certified and trained healthcare professionals.

Weeks 1-5, 7-9
Weeks 1, 4: Little Doc | Medical Marvels
Our youngest future doctors will use a real stethoscope and other medical instruments to role-play the key responsibilities of a doctor. They will explore key organs and systems of the body, practice scrubbing, and suturing like a real surgeon and make models of the brain and spine!
Weeks, 2, 9: Little Vet | Feline Friends
Campers will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and perform a whiskers-to-tail exam on their newly adopted plush cat! These future veterinarians will learn about animal body language, maintain a healthy environment such as proper litterbox placement, create a cat toy, and design a vet clinic.
Weeks 3, 5, 7: Marine Biology | Sea Turtle Rescue
Dive into the deep ocean with us! This program offers campers a dynamic, hands-on introduction to marine biology. Participants will conduct ocean experiments, adopt a plush sea turtle, and partake in a collaborative sea turtle rescue. Along their journey they will uncover the mysteries of ocean layers, vertebrates vs. invertebrates, ocean animal babies, and more!
Week 8: Little Vet | Pawesome Adventures
Camp participants will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and learn how to care for their very own plush puppy! These future veterinarians will learn how to remove ticks, perform a nose-to-tail exam, understand proper animal nutrition and hydration, suture lacerations, and more.

Week 9: Forensic Science | STEM Sleuths
Uncover clues and crack the case with Little Medical School. This hands-on summer camp immerses students in forensic science through activities like fingerprinting, crime scene security, age progression, and sensory sharpening exercises. They’ll experiment with toxicology, handwriting analysis, and composite drawings.
Weeks 3, 5, 7: Marine Biology | Whale Tale
Dive into the underwater world of Marine Biology and learn all about whales! Campers will conduct ocean experiments, adopt a plush orca, and uncover the mysteries of the ocean layers. They will learn about ocean mammals, water pressure, ocean predators, and more!
Week 1, 4: Little Doc | Future Physicians
Thinking about a career in medicine? At our Little Doctor camp, participants will role-play the key responsibilities of a doctor and learn about vital organs in the human body. These future physicians will learn how to use a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, and reflex hammer. They will practice suturing, administering first aid, and learn how pharmacists administer medications.
Week 8: Wilderness Medicine | Conquer the Great Outdoors
Get ready to conquer the great outdoors! Campers will manage outdoor challenges including insect and snake bites and poisonous plants alongside learning skills in hike preparation, map reading, compass use, and identifying animal tracks and wildlife encounters. They will master survival techniques such as splint setting, tourniquet use, hypothermia care, and emergency bandana uses.
