Youth Action Evening Programs
Fun, in-person programs for community youth
YMCA Youth Action is a free program for community youth ages 10 to 14 years. At Youth Action, participants can be physically active, play games, hang out with friends, and meet some new ones.
Led by our engaging YMCA staff teams, all programs are run in neighbourhood schools from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm weekly starting the week of October 21, 2024.
Note: Entry to the program continues until 6:15 pm, at which time the program will begin. Doors are locked once the program starts and entry is not guaranteed. Make sure to get there on time to claim your spot!

Things to remember when you arrive
We want you to be able to jump right into Youth Action, so please keep the following points in mind when you arrive at the program site.
- Most Youth Action programs sites have a maximum capacity of 30 participants.
- The Youth Action sites at the Diamond Trail location require registration in advance to participate. We want to make sure that everyone who attends is safe and has fun so we have also lowered the maximum number of participants at those locations to 20. Registration is free and can be quickly completed by clicking here but it must be completed no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Registration will not be available at the door at these locations.
- Participants are asked to bring a refillable water bottle. Washrooms are available for participants to use one at a time. You’re going to be active so make sure that you have comfortable clothing and the proper footwear. Participants who attend the same school as a Youth Action program site will not be able to move through the school in order to obtain items (such as indoor footwear) from their locker, so please ensure that you come to the program with what you need.
- All Youth Action participants must complete a registration form on their first visit to a program site. This information helps keep our participants safe, and it will be used to maintain accurate attendance records.
- We ask that the information provided on the registration form be accurate and up-to-date. In an effort to keep all participants safe, the information we receive will be verified for accuracy. Participants who knowingly provide inaccurate or false information may be asked to leave the program as a result.
A note to parents
Empowering young people to choose to participate, and remain engaged, in Youth Action is a critical program element. All Youth Action programs are drop-in style, which means that youth (ages 10-14 years) can sign themselves in and out of the program. Please be advised that if any participant chooses to leave during the duration of the program, they will not be permitted back into the program that evening.
Encouraging responsible behaviour
YMCA Youth Action evening programs have been designed to promote fun, physical activity, creativity, and safety.
We have planned engaging activities to meet the interests of those attending, and all participants will be asked to conduct themselves in a manner that is appropriate for a YMCA program and is in line with the YMCA values of respect, responsibility, caring, honesty, inclusiveness, and health.
The YMCA reserves the right to deny entry or remove someone from a program as a result of their behaviour.
