We are so proud of the children at St. John Catholic Elementary School and the St. John YMCA Child Care Centre in Beamsville for their incredible achievement in breaking a Guinness World Record.

What began with a simple sense of curiosity grew into a powerful example of teamwork, perseverance, and kids believing in what they could accomplish together.

Creating safe, supportive spaces where children feel encouraged to explore big ideas and challenge themselves helps moments like this take shape. As Sarah Maragoudakis, General Manager of Children’s Services, shared,

“It’s incredible to see curiosity spark confidence and help kids rise to a challenge together.”

That pride was echoed by Ashley Bergen, who worked closely with the group:

“I couldn’t be more proud of the kids that participated. They were given a challenge and they all stepped up.”

This achievement is a meaningful reminder of what’s possible when children are supported, encouraged, and given the opportunity to shine.
