Niagara Centre YMCA Marks 20 Years of Well-Being

On November 28, the Niagara Centre YMCA celebrated its 20th birthday with cake, smiles, and plenty of familiar faces from across Welland. For two decades, the centre has been a place where people of all ages feel welcome, supported, and connected — a true “third place” in the community.

Adding to the celebration, Ben McDermott, General Manager of Health, Fitness & Aquatics, shared his reflections on the milestone:

“For 20 years, Niagara Centre has been a place where people feel seen, supported, and encouraged to unlock their potential — whether they’re learning to swim, finding confidence in a new class, or simply making connections that brighten their day. It’s an honour to celebrate this milestone with a community that gives so much back to us.”
