For Bruna, the YMCA has been part of her family’s routine for the past 10 years.

It’s not something her family has to think about or plan around. “Coming to the Y isn’t optional,” she laughs.

A big part of what keeps Bruna coming back is how the YMCA makes it easy for everyone to stay active and not feel like a chore. With swimming lessons and drop-in family time, her daughter is always entertained and learning new skills. “My three year old thinks the YMCA is fun, it’s an exciting moment for us to come here.”

From the moment they walk through the doors, Bruna says the Y feels welcoming.

“It’s a place where you always belong,”

When her older daughter was younger, they would also go to the Y together for swimming or racquetball and Bruna could squeeze in a workout. Now, her daughter confidently uses the fitness floor on her own.

For Bruna and her family, the YMCA is more than a place to exercise.

“The YMCA is part of our lives.”
