Helping Hands
A limited number of spaces are available for children with special needs (i.e. are experiencing autism, ADHD, ODD, etc.), behavioural or physical considerations that would benefit from additional support to promote their integration into the group. For more information on the supports available and to discuss if the Adventure Club program would be a good fit for your child, please contact the Day Camp office at [email protected] to speak to our staff prior to registering.
To express interest and to add yourself to the Helping Hands waitlist for Adventure Club, please register for “Helping Hands Intake” online when Adventure Club registration is open. This does not guarantee you a spot in the program but puts you on the waitlist. We will work through the waitlist and contact you if a spot becomes available.
Safety is a top priority
Adventure Club is focused on safety and frequent hand washing and disinfecting will be in place.
All participants and staff are encouraged to practice appropriate respiratory etiquette. Parents should screen their children for symptoms at home in advance of the program and remain at home if unwell due to COVID or any other illness.
Groups
Adventure Club will be operating in groups of up to 11 children. Groups will stay together each program week. Siblings may be placed in groups together when age and developmentally appropriate at the discretion of the YMCA.
Illness and Symptoms
Children who are sick or have any symptoms associated with the COVID-19 virus should remain at home. A link will be provided after registration to use to report a child’s absence. Parents/caregivers should report any absences daily by 11:00 a.m.
Furthermore, if a child begins to develop any symptoms during the program the parent/caregiver will be notified and will be required to pick that child up immediately. For the safety of everyone involved, the child(ren) will be removed from the group and will be required to wear a mask while waiting to be picked up.
