About CLARS

CLARS Language Assessment Centres provide English/French language assessments and referrals to classes for eligible immigrants who would like to improve their language skills. Completing a language assessment is the first step to accessing language classes in your community. Our certified language assessors will assess your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills using standardized tools and refer you to an ESL class that best suits your needs. Assessments may take 4 hours.

Consent to securely share personal information with training provider(s) *

In order for you to participate in English or French language training funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), your Language Assessor at "YMCA of Niagara - Employment and Immigrant Services" will need to share your personal information with language training provider(s) you choose, through a secure database. This information will include your full name, date of birth, language assessment results and other information needed to provide you with service. Your information will also be shared with government databases for reporting. By submitting this form, you consent to having your personal information securely shared such that we are able to provide you this service. This consent is valid for 12 months after the completion of the assessment, and will not be used for any other purposes other than the assessment.
