Welcome to YMCA Day Camp

At the YMCA we believe in the limitless potential of every young person. As a leader in child development, the YMCA understands the impact recreational and social experiences, physical activity, and positive environments can have on the growth and development of children.

At YMCA Day Camp, we are committed to providing all children with the opportunity to:

  • Participate in a variety of fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities
  • Thrive in a safe and supportive environment
  • Experience personal growth
  • Develop and enhance their skills
  • Be active and outdoors
  • Engage with staff and volunteers who are role models
  • Form new friendships and make lasting memories

The YMCA Camp difference

Character development is a key element of YMCA Day Camp programs. We encourage all members of the camp community to treat one another with dignity and celebrate positive actions.

The YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Inclusiveness and Health are the cornerstones of character development at the YMCA. At YMCA Day Camp, value beads are a sign of personal achievement and recognition. Beads encourage positive behaviour and are awarded for demonstrating the YMCA core values.

We hire role models

All YMCA Day Camp staff and volunteers are carefully selected based on their leadership potential, experiences, and ability to model the YMCA values.

At the YMCA, we understand that children and youth thrive when they experience positive peer and adult relationships. Our goal is to develop today’s Day Camp staff into tomorrow’s great leaders through extensive training, ongoing coaching, support and mentorship opportunities.

All staff are required to have Standard First Aid CPR-C and meet YMCA Criminal Record Check procedures.
