March Break CampYMCA Day Camps are offered for children and youth over the Summer, Winter and March Break holidays. Camps are available for children ages 3/5 to 12 in a variety of locations including the St. Catharines Walker Family YMCA, Welland Niagara Centre YMCA, Niagara Falls YMCA and Fort Erie YMCA. Day Camp programs include active games, swimming, creative activities, special events, camp songs, arts and crafts, sports and more! Camp Descriptions Kinder Camp: Designed specifically for the first time camper, Kinder Camp offers a variety of developmentally appropriate activities for your children in a safe and nurturing environment. Campers must be toilet trained prior to attending camp.
Daily Kinder Camp Themes Junior Camp: Junior Camp is designed for the camper who is more physically active and enjoys new experiences and outdoor adventures! Each day will be focused around a different theme allowing campers to experience a variety of activities. Junior campers will experience independent activities and may also pair up the youth camp for a portion of the day.

Youth Camp: Youth Camp allows campers to build confidence, learn new skills and make new friends. Each day’s activities will be focused around a different theme allowing campers to experience a variety of exciting activities. Campers will have an opportunity to swim as part of this camp program. Winter Sports Camp: This week long camp will provide campers between the ages of 6 and 12 with a unique winter sports experience. Campers will spend a portion of the day outside utilizing the sports fields, playing variations of traditional and non-traditional sports adapted to the current weather. Campers will have access to an indoor space for crafts and other passive activities. Please note that swimming is not a part of the Winter Sports Camp program. St. Catharines: March Break campers will have access to daily ice skating at the arena. Campers are required to bring their own skates (in a mesh bag) and helmet in order to participate in skating activities. Winter Sports Camp Theme (week long) Aquatics Camp: This camp will encourage campers to develop their swimming skills and their appreciation of the water! Campers will have two swim periods each day, focused on skill development and recreational swimming. Campers will spend the rest of the day participating in traditional camp activities. Campers should bring 2 bathing suits to camp each day. Campers must have successfully completed YMCA swimmer level or equivalent to register. Aquatic Camp Theme (week long)
At all of the YMCA Camps, campers will experience:
*Busing (March Break only in St. Catharines)
Camp Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm
Extended Care: Additional care is available at the YMCA of Niagara branches. AM extended care is from 7:30 to 8:30am at a cost of $5 per day. PM extended care runs from 4:30 to 6:00pm at a cost of $6 per day.
Payment: At the time of registration, a non-refundable deposit of $5 per day/ $25 per week is required. You are encouraged to pay your fees in full at this time or you may spread out the balance of fees through pre-authorized payments from a bank account (by supplying a void cheque) or credit card until 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp.
Program Support: The YMCA partners with agencies in the community to provide camp experiences for children and youth ages 6 to 12 years who require additional support in camp. A limited amount of support is available and assigned on a first come, first serve basis. To arrange support for your child please contact 905-934-9755 x 282 prior to registration.
In Fort Erie the YMCA partners with Community Living Fort Erie to offer additional support in camp. For more information please contact Community Living Fort Erie at 905-871-6770 prior to registration.
YMCA Financial Assistance: Through the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, the YMCA can assist families with YMCA Day Camp fees. If your financial circumstances are limiting your child's access to Day Camp, please contact the YMCA to arrange a Day Camp Assistance appointment.
Niagara Region Financial Assistance: Subsidy is available to families who qualify through the Niagara Region. Please contact your Subsidy Eligibility Caseworker at 905-984-3750 to confirm eligibility prior to registration.
Refund/Cancellation Policy: Requests for refunds made up to two weeks prior to camp will be issued, less the deposit. Camp fees are non-refundable within two weeks of camp. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons (doctor’s note required). Refunds will not be given if the camper is absent due to illness or sent home for misconduct.
Camper Age: To ensure full participation in all aspects of the camp program, children are required to be the designated camp age prior to the start of the camp.
